The Florence M. Burd School was originally built in 1955 as the first school of the Andover Consolidated School District which joined the Andover Borough and Andover Township communities. The property was purchased from the Hill Family for $26,000.00 in 1953. In 1959, four classrooms were added to the existing building and in 2006 another 9,000 square foot addition was added, coupled with major renovation of all systems. The renovations and addition in 2006 also saw the Florence M. Burd School house all students in Grades Kindergarten through 4th plus the pre-school disabilities students. |
