Consequences of an Authorized Individual Not Present at the Bus Stop

For students in Pre-K to Kindergarten and those on special education routes, authorized individuals must be present at the bus stop or the student will not be released and will be returned to the attending school. All other students are permitted to disembark at their assigned stop without a parent/guardian present, but a parent/ guardian may request, in writing, that the student not be allowed to disembark the bus without a parent or guardian present.  If a student in Pre-K to Kindergarten has an older sibling on the same bus route, their Parent or guardian may submit a signed letter to the District granting approval for the older

sibling to disembark with the younger sibling and walk the Pre-K or Kindergarten student home.  However, if the older sibling is not on the bus the student will not be permitted to disembark without a parent or guardian present. Special Education students must always have a parent or guardian present at the bus stop.
